After finishing my undergraduate degree in 1999, I pursued a career as a wildland firefighter with the federal government. I worked on the Malheur National Forest in eastern Oregon and at Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California. In 2004, my wife and I joined the Peace Corps to learn more about the world beyond our borders. We lived in Armenia where I taught environmental education. Upon returning, we located in Eugene where I am pursuing a master's degree in Community and Regional Planning.
