Having just completed my MS in counseling in May, 2007, being a career counselor is my second career. My first career began after I volunteered at my college's radio station, WCWM, at the College of William and Mary, and ended up doing news. I got the broadcast bug and left school to pursue it. My radio work included weekends at KGO-AM in San Francisco. Radio led to TV, which took me to California's Central Coast and Sacramento. I became a producer and enjoyed both the creative aspects and the opportunities to mentor newcomers and interns. Eventually I realized that helping people explore and develop their personal and career paths was more fullfilling than beating deadlines. I returned to school to finish my BA and get a graduate degree and I completed my internship requirements at the UO Career Center in 2006-2007. I bring my love of hearing people's stories and my interview skills to the job and I am delighted to now be on the staff!
