O’Reilly’s Rainforest Guesthouse: 

For over 90 years the O'Reilly family has hosted guests in their home in the World Heritage listed Lamington National Forest. Internship activities include rotating through various management and operations aspects of the guesthouse, including hospitality and hotel management, restaurant management, conference planning, operations, accounting, maintenance (including grounds), waste management, recycling, and activities planning and promotion.  This placement now has a human resources management option in addition to the ecotourism option.

Hunter Valley Gardens: 

Work in the Napa Valley of Australia at Hunter Valley Gardens - a premier and award winning garden, winery and vacation resort in the Sydney area.  Internships in landscape architecture provide interns with the opportunity to plan, implement and sculpt 25 hectares of Australia's most award-winning botanical gardens. Other options include marketing and advertising, viticulture or event management.

International Ocean Institute:

Work among some of the best Ocean researchers and policy makers in the world at the IOI in Australia.  Interns will work closely with ocean policy leaders to gather research from ocean research organizations across the globe and pull it together to formulate policy papers and coordinate education and outreach workshops administered worldwide. This is an ideal placement for seniors or graduate students completing thesis projects with a focus on marine policy. Placements are for 6 months.

National Marine Science Center:

The National Marine Science Centre (NMSC) opened in 2002 as a joint venture of the University of New England and Southern Cross University. The Centre is located at Coffs Harbour, adjacent to the Solitary Islands Marine Park, which enables students, academic and professional researchers to excel in the study of marine science and management. Internships at NMSC enable students to work alongside professional scientists, managers, staff, technicians and to get a sample of what routes there are to follow in marine science and management careers.

New Zealand Department of Conservation: 

This government agency manages areas such as national parks, protected forests and waters, native wildlife, fisheries and marine reserves, and historic places on conservation land. Student interns will be selected to work on one of the diverse conservation projects located throughout New Zealand. These projects vary from year to year and may include the following: native bird recovery programs, freshwater surveys and wetland restoration, plant surveys and weed control, lizard surveys and predator control, marine reserve research, and bat surveys.
