Career Center Success Story: Irini Souris, First Investors Corporation
I graduated from the University of Oregon in September, 2005. By November of 2005, I was working for the Beaverton office of First Investors Corporation as a Financial Services Representative. As I was getting started, I worked very closely with a mentor as well as the managers of my office, who gave me the training necessary to obtain my securities and insurance licenses. Once licensed, the training continued through the form of weekly training classes, where I had the opportunity to learn different skills from the managers, sales supervisors and senior representatives in my office. After building a successful business I entered into the management team to help teach new representatives the same successful business skills that I had been taught. Working in the management team of my office has given me the hands on experiences necessary to make successful representatives. While in the management team I have continued working and helping my clients with their finances. The experiences, knowledge and skills that I have obtained through the management team and my career here at First Investors has opened a large opportunity for me to open and manage a First Investors branch office in Las Vegas by December 2008. I would have never thought that by the age of 24 I would have built a successful business and have an opportunity to become a branch manager of a Wall St. based financial services company. I am looking forward with great ambition to the coming years and a life long career at First Investors.
