Cozy Up to the Career Center!

The Career Center will be giving away free cocoa, coffee and tea on Thursday, January 17th, from 8:30 to 10:30am. Look for our tent in front of the EMU Ampitheatre.

We can also assist you in registering for and searching UO-JobLink, your online database of current jobs, internships and opportunities.

You can also ask us about workshops and other events occuring over Winter Term.

Career Center Hours
---------------------------------------------

The Career Center is open and currently running its normally scheduled hours!

Hours: M-F 8:30-5:00

Individual Career Counseling
Career counselors are available to meet with you Monday-Friday. You have two options for accessing counseling:

Schedule an appointment ahead of time. Call the Career Center at 346-3235 or stop by the second floor of Hendricks Hall to find a time that fits your schedule. Appointments are available Monday - Friday during the Center's hours of operation (8:30 am - 5:00 pm).

Use the drop-in/same day appointment service. The Career Center offers half hour appointments on a first come first served basis Monday - Friday, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm during the academic year (see seminars + events for updated hours). A sign up sheet is available every morning at 8:30 am for that day's drop-in. You can sign up at any time during the day for a "drop-in" appointment.

A resume and cover letter are integral components of your job search, and when done well, can open the door to an interview. This workshop will focus on the basic structure of these important documents. Strategies to help you target your resume and cover letter to specific positions will also be addressed.

Teach for America
Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all backgrounds and academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and who become lifelong leaders in the effort to expand opportunity for children. Each year, Teach For America selects a corps of over 2,000 individuals, provides them with extensive training during summer institutes, places them as full-time, paid teachers in public schools, and provides ongoing support through a network of Teach For America staff, corps members and alumni during their two years as teachers and beyond.
