Another type of interview is the informational interview. Rather than interviewing for a job, you are the interviewer talking with someone who holds a job you would like to learn more about. You are responsible for contacting the professional, arranging a time, and developing a list of questions to help you learn more about their job. This is an important tool to help you decide if that particular career path is right for you. It is also a great way to explore companies and learn more about their culture. 

While this interview is not about getting hired, treat it seriously! Remember, any time you come in contact with an employer, you are being evaluated. Be professional, positive, and appreciative. These interviews can grow your network of contacts which might help you when you conduct a job search.
