The history of the relationship between the Peace Corps and the University of Oregon is as long as the history of Peace Corps. Since 1961, when the Peace Corps was created, almost 2,000 alumni have served in their country through Peace Corps service.

Past Peace Corps Campus Representatives (Recruiters)

In the early days of promoting Peace Corps on campus, the recruiters were students involved in the ASUO and other campus organizations.

Today, the recruiters on campus are graduate students who have obtained a Graduate Teaching Fellowship (GTF). The GTF is associated with the Career Center.
